SEALED TENDERS, clearly marked as to contents will be received by the City Clerk, Level 1, City Hall, 426 Brant Street, Burlington until 2:00 p.m.

The culvert replacement requires the following estimated major item quantities:

 

Removal and disposal of existing asphalt, existing granular, and excavatedsoil                                                                                       

 

15 m3 total

Remove and dispose existing concrete blocks, concrete arch culvert, and arch CSP culvert extensions off site                                              

 

Lump Sum

Installation, maintenance and removal of silt fence                               

200 m

Supply and installarmour stone retaining walls                                        

Lump Sum

Install temporary by-pass. Item includes 18m long 1.65 m diameter CSP culvert, granular backfill over the culvert, temporary ditch, and plunge pool as shown on drawing.                                                                  

 

 

Lump Sum

Install Con-span including concrete mudslab, pre-cast footing, pre-cast conspan sections, pre-cast headwall, backfilling with Granular B, and backfilling creek.  Item includes shop drawing of pre-cast footing stamped by a professional engineer for review and all dewatering required to maintain dry working area within the excavation.

The construction of this project must meet Ministry of the Environment, Conservation Halton and Department of Fisheries and Oceans requirements.

 

Tenders and plans may be purchased from the Engineering Department, Level 2, City Hall, at a price of $62.15 (HST incl.) as of Tuesday, June 7, 2011.  Plan taker’s lists and tender results can be viewed at www.burlington.ca.  Inquiries should be directed to Umar Malik at 905-335-7600, ext. 7426.

 

Tenders will be opened in Council Chambers, City Hall, at 2:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
