Street Tree Pruning
The City of Burlington requires an Arboriculture Contractor to perform tree pruning on “City” trees (Trees located within the City road allowance) and “Shared” trees (Trees located partially on the City road allowance).
Approximately 6,650 trees are to be pruned as defined and indicated within Appendix G Preliminary Inventory.
Tree pruning within the road allowance will involve trees located in close proximity to live electrical conductors. All bidders shall be required to have obtained clearance from Burlington Hydro Inc. to work in proximity to their infrastructure. Bidders are required to have obtained clearance prior to submitting their bid.
Pruning shall be performed to provide clearance for vehicle and pedestrian traffic, streetlight and street sign clearance pruning, enhancement of structural integrity through removal of defective branches, twigs and/or scaffold limbs as well as improvement of overall health and safety of the trees via selective pruning.
The contract will be for a one year period with two (2) one-year renewal options based on the same terms and conditions and upon mutual agreement between the Contractor and City and contingent upon a sufficient budget and / or Council approval if applicable.

METHODS OF PAYMENT:
Payment by credit card is required for documents available electronically. If picking up the document in person, the City will accept cash, cheque, Interac, MasterCard, Visa and American Express. Cheques are to be made payable to The Corporation of the City of Burlington. Documents will not be released until payment is received. The City of Burlington is not responsible for delivery delays via courier or mail.
