Supply and Install Transit Bus Shelters


The City of Burlington currently has 191 bus shelters around the urban core of the city.  The current inventory of styles includes the “Contemporary” and “Traditional” models provided by Day Tech Limited.  The City is seeking a new style of shelter that will assist in enhancing our brand image and will be used for our higher order service corridors. 

The Corporation of the City of Burlington is seeking a contractor to perform a number of activities:

1.    Supply and Install Transit Shelters

2.    To Remove Existing Shelters

3.    To Remove Existing Shelter and relocate Existing Shelters

Vendor must provide an 8”x10” picture of the shelter offered, along with schematics and drawings of the shelters with the submission. 

Bidders must have a minimum of (5) years experience manufacturing or have a minimum (5) years contractual relationship with a manufacturer of pre-fabricated transit shelters and related products.

METHODS OF PAYMENT:

Payment by credit card is required for documents available electronically.  If picking up the document in person, the City will accept cash, cheque, Interac, MasterCard, Visa and American Express.   Cheques are to be made payable to The Corporation of the City of Burlington.   Documents will not be released until payment is received.   The City of Burlington is not responsible for delivery delays via courier or mail.

All questions relating to this Request for Tender or any clarification with respect to this Tender should be made in writing no later than 6 calendar days prior to closing date.  We cannot guarantee a response to any questions received after this deadline.  The City reserves the right to extend the closing deadline if required.

If a Bidder finds omissions from or discrepancies in any of the Tender documents, unnecessary restrictions in the specifications, or should he/she be in doubt as to the meaning of any part of this document, he/she should notify the contact named above in writing prior to submitting a bid.  An addendum will be issued if it is determined that a correction, explanation or interpretation is necessary or desirable.

If Bidders fail to report any discrepancies, errors or omissions to the Buyer as specified, Bidders will be deemed to have accepted all such specifications as being accurate, and the City will not approve any alternatives or extra charges subsequent to acceptance of the bid.  Therefore, Bidders are encouraged to review the document in full before the deadline for questions.

DISCLOSING BID TAKERS:

Purchasing Services practice is not to disclose the list of bid takers.  There may be some exceptions, e.g. when the bid call is related to construction. However, the City reserves the right to disclose or not to disclose this information
