The Edmonton Arena Corporation, acting as agent for the City of Edmonton, intends to develop a state of the art venue for professional and amateur sports and other entertainment, athletic, cultural, and commercial events. The Developer invites Proponents to submit Proposals to act as the Fundamental and Best Practise Building Commissioning Agent related to the construction of these facilities. One of the primary purposes of the development is to provide the Edmonton Oilers, a franchise in the National Hockey League and an affiliate of the Developer, with a professional hockey arena containing approximately 18,400 seats. The Project is contemplated to include the following facilities: . a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility including: a professional hockey arena; associated food, beverage, retail and entertainment areas; associated concourse, gathering and circulation areas within the facility; ice plant facilities; parking garage and loading areas; . a pedestrian bridge structure spanning 104th Avenue to lands south of the arena parcel; . a community rink; . a light rail transit connection; . an enclosed pedestrian corridor connecting the light rail transit connection to the pedestrian bridge; and . elevators, escalators, stairs, public walkways, sidewalks, streetscapes and other public spaces. (collectively referred, to the extent proceeded with, as the â¿¿Arena Area Facilitiesâ¿) The successful Proponent will provide Fundamental and Best Practise Building commissioning and associated services for the Project, as detailed in the Agreement. Project Delivery Without limiting any requirements that may be established in the eventual Agreement to be negotiated; and without limiting any requirements set forth in LEED® Canada â¿¿ NC1.0 the Developer currently anticipates that the Arena Area Facilities shall require the following services generally set forth below. The Commissioning Agent shall prepare a commissioning program to meet the LEED® Canada-NC1.0 Guidelines for Fundamental Building Commissioning (EA Pre-requisite 1) and Best Practice Commissioning (EA Credit 3) specific to the Arena Area Facilities. Fundamental Building Commissioning â¿¿ (EA Prerequisite 1) tasks to include for the Arena Area Facility Project: (a) Form and coordinate a commissioning team (b) Document the Developerâ¿¿s requirements. (c) Review the basis of design documentation. (d) Develop and utilize a commissioning plan. (e) Incorporate commissioning requirements into the construction documents. (f) Installation Verification. (g) Start-up and Checkout. (h) Functional Testing. (i) Training and operation and maintenance of documentation. (j) Complete Commission report. APC "Opportunity Notices" |
