Purpose
This is a Request for Pre-Qualification & Expression of
Interest (“RFPQ&E”), inviting qualified, bondable, General Contractors
(“respondents”) to submit their credentials to pre-qualify for tendering on
the construction of the Woodlands Library, including site services and
landscaping.
This will be the only pre-qualification
& expression of interest advertisement for general contractors for the
required construction services. All respondents that pre-qualified as a result
of this RFPQ&E will be invited to bid under Canadian Construction
Documents Committee CCDC 2 – 2008 Stipulated Price Contract with Amendments
as written by the City of Mississauga
(“the City”).
Scope
The scope of work will include:
General Contracting Services for the
construction of a new 7,000 sqft. community library located at Erindale
Station Road and Dundas
Street in Mississauga.
The building is a single storey library. The project will include clearing of
the existing site, construction of a new single story Library building,
landscaping (hard and soft) and roadway improvements to the site.
The construction budget for this work
is in the range of approximately $ 2.8 million over one year period.
Contractor Capacity, Qualification and Experience
To qualify, respondents are to prove
their capabilities, qualifications and experience in construction projects of
similar scope and value. Respondents to have been in the construction
contracting business, operating under the same company name for a minimum of
5 years with fulltime management and supervisory staff; demonstrate that they
have the capacity to provide appropriate number of qualified personnel,
workers, and resources to complete projects simultaneously with a combined annual
value of no less than $15 million dollars; have proven experience as a
general contractor with at least 2 projects over the past 5 years similar in
nature to the project described in the RFPQ&E; be in full compliance with
all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations as they pertain to
the City.
