Please take notice of the changes made to the vendor registration process for the York Public Buyers Co-operative (YPBC) and its Associated Participating Agencies. The YPBC consists of municipalities, school boards, and other agencies within York Region.
Here are the main reasons why you should complete an online vendor application for the York Public Buyers Co-op.:
- To receive an email for the commodities that have been registered.
- To provide YPBC Purchasing Departments with a current, accurate, updated list of potential suppliers/contractors including all contact information.
- To share supplier contact information across all participating agencies within the YPBC.
- To allow suppliers/contractors to update their own information electronically.
- The participants of the YPBC are spearheading an initiative to promote open, fair, transparent and standardized access to all bid opportunities to York Region suppliers and contractors.
Firstly, the YPBC vendor application form has been changed to make it easier to register. Required fields to be completed includes the name, address, and contact information of the vendor, Goods and Services Tax number, Workplace Safety Insurance Board number (if applicable), and a description of the goods or services provided by your company.
Next is the improvement in the application submission process. By submitting your vendor application to the YPBC, all participating municipalities can search and locate suppliers by your selected commodity codes. These commodity codes have been designed to reflect goods and services that the municipalities purchase yearly. The buyers can utilize the contact information to invite your company to respond to a Request for Proposal, Request for Information, or a Request for Bid.
Please note: The York Catholic District School Board and the York Region District School Board require suppliers to also complete their customized vendor application form. The items these organizations purchase are specific to school board requirements.
Finally, the YPBC is also embarking on a program that will enable suppliers to locate bid opportunities available from all of the participating YPBC organizations. Current or potential suppliers of YPBC can view open bid opportunities by simply login into the participating agencies individual websites, for example, www.Vaughan.ca or www.Newmarket.ca, and locating the purchasing department webpage where open bid opportunity links are available, or login to www.biddingo.com/york.
