About the BBM Canada
In 1944, a group of advertisers, advertising agencies and broadcasters formed the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement. The purpose of the organization was to carry out impartial measurements of the circulation, coverage and audiences of radio stations in Canada. BBM added television measurement in 1953. BBM was incorporated on July 1, 1966 as a corporation without share capital. The name was officially changed to BBM Canada on March 7, 2002.
Today, BBM (Sondages BBM in Québec), is a not for profit, member-owned tripartite industry organization, which has been operating since 1944. We provide broadcast measurement and consumer behaviour data, as well as industry-leading intelligence to broadcasters, advertisers and agencies.
