The City of Mississauga, located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, intends to procure the goods and/or services as described below:

Description of Procurement: In alignment with the strategic goals of the library and the City’s Smart City Master Plan, the City of Mississauga is seeking proponents who  are interested in exploring the possibility of sponsoring state-of-the-art IT hardware, software and/or specialized expertise/services to offset the costs if these services and allow the library to:
  • Define and elevate the technology service offerings and related programming to build a bridge between introductory library programs and other community programs.
  • Improve the digital literacy development opportunities for Mississauga residents through the expansion of its MakerSpace, digital creation and STEAM acquisition programs at its 18 locations. The library has piloted 3 MakerSpaces at its locations and would like to extend the reach, availability and keep pace with changing technologies and services available within them.  In the Central Library redevelopment plan, a whole floor is dedicated to creation, digital literacy and skill acquisition.
  • Extend technology throughout all its buildings, helping customers experience technology by integrating interaction with digital collections in new and meaningful ways, by improving our computer services models, by expanding our 24/7 access to our facilities and services and looking to improve efficiencies in our operations.
  • Support digital inclusion through its in-branch services and loaning programs.
  • Transform its service operations, allowing staff to maximize the use of technology to improve customer interactions and to allow effective customer self-service.
  • Effectively utilize and manage its assets by upgrading its infrastructure in order to manage its building operations more effectively, increasing the environmental efficiency and decreasing the ecological blueprint of its buildings.
